    PURCHASING / OPERATIONS COORDINATOR:

     

    The Purchasing / Planning and Design Coordinator, is an exciting new role within the Beazer Gatherings Division which is primarily responsible for providing administrative support to the Gatherings Director of Purchasing and Planning and Design Manager. This role will be based in Atlanta but will work with all 16 Divisions within Beazer in over 13 states assisting with tasks such as take-off of future buildings, cost and material estimates for new communities, bid analysis of trade partner proposals, as well as assistance with coordination of plan development, permit applications, and submittal tracking.

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities

      • Use spreadsheets to analyze cost estimates on up-coming Gatherings projects.
      • Analyze bids received from trade partners for the selection of subcontractors
      • Provide administrative support per the direction of the Planning and Design Manager and the Director of Purchasing writing letters, email correspondence, and meeting minutes.
      • Perform detailed reviews of new architectural and engineering design drawings.
      • Coordinate Architectural and engineer plan corrections to complete permit drawing sets.
      • Developing and growing our trade partner lists where Gatherings are being built in new cities. Complete forms necessary for drawing plan submittals to city, county and state agencies.
      • Assist in the documentation necessary for approval of subcontractors, awarding of contracts, and integration of those new contracts into our internal systems.

    Education & Experience

      • Four-year college degree required.
      • Two years of contract and construction experience or architecture and engineering design preferred.

    Skills & Abilities

      • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
      • Proficient computer skills in MS Office with an emphasis on Excel and Adobe Acrobat; knowledge of JDE and BuildPro is a plus.
      • Attention to detail and time management skills.
      • Ability to multi-task on multiple projects with many different contacts.
      • Problem solving abilities along with a good teamwork attitude working each day with a sense of urgency and accountability.

    Technical Knowledge & Experience

      • General knowledge of construction methods and architectural and engineer design drawings is a plus but additional on the job training will be provided.
    • Ability to read plans and understand red lining process.

    Physical Requirements

    • Typical office environment
    • May be required to conduct field visits as needed.
