  • Overview

     

    The Environmental and Safety Compliance Quality Manager serves as the dedicated support for Beazer’s
    Division activities related to the Corporate Environmental Stormwater Program, with additional support
    of the Safety and Quality Programs.

     

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities

     

     

    • Serve as the dedicated support for Federal, State and local regulations related to the Corporate Environmental Program, with additional support of the Safety and Quality Programs. 
    • Partner with the Divisions to identify and implement solutions
    • Review compliance and quality reports in detail with each Division
    • Build and maintain State and local EPA/OSHA contacts
    • Build and maintain Division contacts, including: builders, land managers, database administrators, land development and construction operations department heads
    • Conduct community site walks to evaluate compliance and quality
    • Build and maintain stormwater inspection company contacts, BMP maintenance company contacts, quality assurance contacts and other related consultants in the Divisions
    • Develop, deliver and facilitate training
    • Drive focus on Safety Schedule Quality (SSQ)
    • Utilize and lead in technology usage and efficiency
    • Research and assist in development of new technology initiatives, to streamline and increase efficiency of site and Division compliance and quality.
    • Lead Division rollouts and implementation of mobile phone/tablet apps for compliance and quality
    • Participates in the development of Corporate Safety, Environmental and Quality programs and assists management in implementing them throughout Divisions
    • This position will also work in partnership with the Corporate Departments of Operations, Purchasing, Land Development and National Contractor Accounts
    • Other tasks and projects within the Operations Department

     

     

    Education & Experience

    • Minimum BS degree in Engineering or Science (Soil/Water Resources strongly preferred)
    • 3-10 years’ experience
    • Construction industry experience in areas of land development and homebuilding required

    Skills & Abilities

    • Effective communication skills and Strong attention to detail

    Technical Knowledge & Experience

     

    • Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations, with an emphasis on construction stormwater and safety
    • Construction industry experience in areas of land development and homebuilding required
    • Microsoft Office proficiency is required, with excellent writing, spreadsheet and presentation skills, including ability to troubleshoot and solve errors

    Physical Requirements

     

     

     

    • Work is spread between typical office environment, agency interactions and residential construction sites
    • Construction sites with exposure to hazards that are typical in the residential construction industry
    • 15%-30% travel to Beazer Divisions required on an ongoing basis
