  • Overview

    In an experimental learning environment, this position assists in developing and executing communication strategy specifically focused on internal communications, consumer public relations and social media. 


    Primary Duties & Responsibilities



    Internal communications

    • Support the ongoing development of corporate communications digital platforms to meet our internal business needs
    • Partner with internal stakeholders to draft communications for various projects related to IT, HR, and other departments
    • maintain editorial calendar of internal communications initiatives
    • create engaging visual communications including infographics, intranet banners, and video
    • assist with community management of internal social media channel
    • Help coordinate special events for corporate office

    Media relations

    • Draft and review press releases in collaboration with field marketing team
    • maintain press contact list
    • assist with pitching local and national media
    • track media placements

    Company storytelling and employer branding

    • Draft blog posts related to company news, culture, philanthropy, and partners
    • Create content for LinkedIn
    • Shadows employees within assigned department to learn needed skills for industry.
    • Reviews all policies and procedures within assigned department.
    • May be assigned special projects as needed.
    • Assists with filing and copying as needed.
    • Assists other departments as needed.

    Education & Experience

    • Undergraduate working towards a degree in English, communications, journalism, PR, marketing, or related field
    • Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills
    • Attention to detail and proven ability to effectively organize and manage multiple tasks
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Internet research
    • Interest in learning Adobe products including Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere

    Skills & Abilities

    • Ability to communicate with management and employees.
    • Ability to organize information to avoid missing details.

    Technical Knowledge & Experience

    • Ability to use office tools including computer for word processing, email and spreadsheet software.

    Physical Requirements

    • May visit construction sites where temperature, weather, and noise may vary.
