  • Overview

    The Research Analyst will assist the Director of Consumer and Market Research in conducting and interpreting complex analysis on a variety of demographic, economic, and market based data.  They will help in curating and maintaining market and consumer-based datasets and analytics tools, and assist in the interpretation, socialization and training around these tools with relevant audiences within the company.

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities

    • Maintains a variety monthly and quarterly reports, an understanding of and relationships with existing or prospective vendors, and robust working knowledge of a in-house software
    • Supports divisional management and field personnel through consulting, training and assistance with data gathering and analysis
    • Leverages external research and internal resources (e.g., consumer profiles, customer experience research, company metrics, and KPIs) to continuously increase the sophistication of existing reporting, processes and methodologies
    • Manages secondary research and supports the market research department in the design, execution and reporting of proprietary qualitative and quantitative research studies
    • Conducts ongoing research and analysis of existing and future Beazer community performance, e.g., profiles prospects and buyers based on demographic, psychographic and lifestyle data
    • Builds and maintains homebuilding industry intelligence through published research and industry news
    • Collects, maintains, and analyzes macro and micro demographic, economic, market, and relevant competitive performance data
      • Synthesizes secondary demographic, economic, and market data to identify existing and future national, market, and submarket trends for demand, supply, and pricing
      • Investigates and maintains current intelligence on competitors’ strategy, including but not limited to community positioning, financial durability, and investment activity
      • Supports competitive positioning analysis for existing and future Beazer communities
    • Provides other ad hoc research and/or analysis as necessary

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Real Estate, Marketing or related discipline required, Master’s Degree or M.B.A. preferred
    • Minimum of 1-3 years of related experience and an understanding of real estate and residential land use preferred

    Skills & Abilities

    • Positive attitude and a strong desire to continuously learn
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and working knowledge of mapping and graphic design applications preferred
    • Equally capable and adept at working independently and collaboratively
    • Comfortable with working with a variety of data sources and mining large data sets
    • Articulate and persuasive communication skills, both oral and written
    • Detail-oriented with a strong acumen for critical, logical thinking and problem-solving

    Physical Requirements

    • Typical office environment
    • Travel to operations and field is expected to be 10%
