    Overview: The Sr. Title Manager/Examiner will lead a team of title examiners for a newly established Home Builder owned Title Agency. This is a unique opportunity to provide general management and title examination specific expertise, guidance, and mentorship to a newly formed team of experienced examiners. You will be intimately involved in the initial and ongoing recruitment, development and management of this team. Responsibilities will include providing title services across several markets in multiple states.

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities

    • Act as the Manager/Sr. Title Examiner for this agency location, providing examination review and oversight
    • Provide day-to-day office management and leadership
    • Lead title examiner team in the search of public records and examination of title to determine legal condition of property title for residential properties
    • Work independently and use experience to examine title to real property, ranging in complexity, to determine status and establish chain of title
    • Develop and implement procedural guidelines, in collaboration with management
    • Provide Audit/Regulatory support for agency, in collaboration with management
    • Perform title examinations and chain of title reviews for a wide range of title orders, primarily residential
    • Abstract and analyze records, such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat and map books, to determine ownership and legal restrictions and to verify legal description of property and completeness of records
    • Autonomously resolve issues, including missing information, incomplete, inaccurate or contradictory information contained in the title documentation
    • Prepare initial title commitment documentation based on the application of procedural guidelines
    • May provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelines
    • Prepare and review reports for accuracy
    • Other responsibilities, as assigned

    Education & Experience

    • Minimum 5+ years of progressively responsible experience, culminating in Sr. Title Examiner responsibilities
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred, but not required)
    • Must currently hold Escrow Officer License (TX) or be willing and able to obtain license
    • Previous leadership and management experience, strongly preferred
    • Must possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
