The IT Security Analyst is responsible for operations and administration the Beazer IT security environment.   This includes ensuring the safe and secure operation of the organizations’ computer systems, servers, and network. The IT Security Analyst will assist in the development, implementation and enforcement of security policies and procedures.  Responsible for the audit, monitoring, and reporting of vulnerabilities and exceptions, as well as timely remediation.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of information residing in corporate databases, workstations, servers, and other systems.
  • Monitor server logs, firewall logs, intrusion detection logs, and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity. Interpret activity and implement plans for resolution.
  • Manage connection security for local area networks, wide area networks, company Web sites, corporate intranets/extranets/portals, and e-mail communications.
  • Plan, design, and implement all security systems and their corresponding or associated software, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems, and anti-virus software.
  • Lead the development all IT security policies and procedures, including those for end users, computing devices, network architecture.
  • Certify that all applications, both internal and SaaS based, comply and conform to all security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct reviews of any new applications comply and conform to Beazer security standards and policies before implementation into the systems environment.
  • Oversee enforcement of policies and procedures for system security administration and user system access, based on industry-standard best practices and compliance regulations.
  • Recommend and deploy appropriate security products and tools, or enhancements to existing tools, to detect violations and exceptions.
  • Ensure that the appropriate patches, hot fixes, and service packs are installed on company-owned or licensed software in a timely manner.
  • Control user logon procedures and password management practices.
  • Design, perform, and/or oversee penetration testing of all systems in order to identify potential system vulnerabilities.
  • Design and implement security system and end user activity audits.
  • Create and publish content for security awareness among employees.
  • Assist in designing and implementing disaster recovery plans for operating systems, databases, network connections and protocols, servers, and software applications.
  • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of security enhancement and development efforts.
  • Provide on-call security support to all end users.

Education & Experience

  • College Bachelor Degree preferably in Computer Security or Computer Science, or equivalent technical training.
  • A minimum of 4 years equivalent work experience in a IT security position.
  • Broad hands-on knowledge of network and IS security components, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard techniques and practices.
  • Strong knowledge of IP, TCP/IP, and other network administration protocols, including their vulnerabilities and solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable practices and laws relating to data privacy, protection, and governance.
  • Knowledge of IT law enforcement practices and procedures, such as Change Management, copyright law, licensing law, segregation of duties and intrusion record collection.
  • Working technical knowledge of current systems software, operating systems, and PC protocols and standards, including Microsoft Windows, wireless protocols, digital signatures and certificates.
  • Strong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Able to respond to after-hours support, including evening and weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • Typical office environment.
  • Must be able to move around the Beazer community, finished home sites and unfinished home sites where weather conditions and noise levels may vary.
  • Safety equipment will be required on any construction sites.
